Adam Cianciarulo's Day At High Point Motocross | MX 2016

Adam Cianciarulo went 10-11 for 10th overall at round 4.

At every round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Series the rider meeting goes off at 7:45 AM. While waiting for the meeting to get underway Joey Savatgy shows Adam his forearm strength. The meeting goes over the rules that pertain to the venue and the AMA will remind the teams and riders of rules they think need to be discussed. Before practice gets underway the Pro Circuit team does a last minute tuning change via the laptop into Adam’s bike.Photo by Rob Koy
In the first timed practice the wheels-on-the-ground flag is displayed for the first 5 minutes, meaning no jumping. After the 5 minutes are up the riders get 10 minutes to turn their fastest lap for qualifying position. Adam was the first rider to hit the uphill triple by the starting gate on a 250. The track was very soft and rutted in the morning practices. Adam takes the middle line and still got bogged down exiting the turn going uphill to the tunnel jump before the rollers. Adam recorded a 2:05.700 in the 2nd timed practice for the 8th gate pick in Moto 1.Photo by Rob Koy
After the first timed practice Adam used a Game Ready innovative Accel technology (Active Compression and Cold Exchange loop) machine to treat and relieve a back injury from the Lakewood crash. Adam stated that he was only able to put in 2 Moto’s over the two week break. Adam came into this race in survival mode and was only going to go at 80 % to build up his strength and endurance.Photo by Rob Koy
Adam got a mid pack start in Moto 1. He said he noticed the gate notch on him when they dropped the gate for the sight lap before the Moto. He was able to get up to 7th place but then on lap 12 he fell over and it took all his energy to get up and push back up to 10th place at the end of the moto.Photo by Rob Koy
Adam took the inside line up to the triple and had no problem making it over the uphill triple and hugging the inside line to the first turn.Photo by Rob Koy
Even riding at 80% the High Point track could bite you. Adam saves it going through the roller section. A number of riders would take either the far right or far left line to avoid the braking bumps going into the left turn.Photo by Rob Koy
Adam had a much better start in the second Moto. Adam said he came into the second Moto angry because Mitch Payton and his dad kept hounding him about his bad starts.Photo by Rob Koy
Adam was able to lead for four laps before he got passed by his teammate Joey Savatgy. Adam did not want to keep that pace going and blow himself up and finish around 18th place. Adam was able to back it down and take an 11th place in Moto 2 and go home and work on his injury and fitness. Adam went 10-11 for 10th overall at High Point.Photo by Rob Koy
