At the fourth round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series at High Point in Mount Morris, Pennsylvania, Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Aaron Plessinger rode his YZ250F to a 1-1 sweep for his second overall win of the season and regained control of the point lead after Geico Honda’s Jeremy Martin had a mechanical issue in the second moto of the day.

“I got good starts and just pretty much rode my own race,” Plessinger said. “Second moto, everybody was riding good. It’s hard to pass out there, but I got it done. Something happened to Jeremy’s bike, I guess, and I came away with a 1-1 on the day.”

Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Austin Forkner battled his way to a fourth-place finish in moto one and improved upon that result in moto two with a second place, which garnered him second overall in Pennsylvania.

“It was really tough out there today, so a podium finish was big for us,” Forkner said. “We train for the heat but it still makes a huge difference on race day. All the hard work is starting to pay off and we're moving in the right direction. I'm looking forward to another solid finish next week.”

He and teammate Plessinger battled briefly in moto one before Cooper would slot back to third where he finished that race. Moto two saw Cooper battling with Jeremy for nearly 20 minutes, but with just over 10 minutes remaining, Jeremy was able to get around. Cooper would ultimately finish the second moto in fourth place, which gave him third overall for the day.

“It was a pretty sick feeling to get both holeshots today and put myself in a good position,” Cooper said. “I was able to run up front and get some more experience up there. I’m feeling more and more confident and feeling like I belong up there now.”
