The opening round the AMA Pro Motocross series got underway at the Hangtown Motocross Classic at central California’s Prairie City SVRA, where Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Zach Osborne duplicated his efforts from a year ago and picked up right where he left off last season with a dominant sweep of the motos aboard his FC 250.

“It was an awesome day,” Osborne said. “To go 1-1 and start off with 50 points is huge for the chase. It’s nice to have a good pace and be where we need to be right off the bat. I’m happy with it and hope to carry the momentum into Glen Helen.”

Jeremy Martin

Geico Honda’s Jeremy Martin, a two-time 250 champion in the series, began his outdoor campaign by finishing second in both motos aboard the all-new CRF250R platform.

“[Today] was solid,” Martin said. “I had a good practice time and got it taken away. I guess I jumped on a medic [flag]. I got a good start in the first moto and then Zach [Osborne] got around me and then ripped a good start in moto 2 and then [Aaron Plessinger] and I were battling. We bumped a little bit in the half-pipe and then I heard Zach [Osborne] coming. We kind of yo-yoed the rest of the race, he got away just enough, and put it on cruise control.”

Aaron Plessinger

Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing’s Aaron Plessinger finished third in moto 1 and fourth in moto 2 to take third overall for the second consecutive season.

“[I’m] pretty pumped with how I rode,” Plessinger said. “[I’ve got to] find some more sprint speed and I think I’ll be battling up front!”
