At the second round of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross series at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California, Monster Energy/Yamalube/Star/Yamaha Racing's Aaron Plessinger dominated both 250 class motos going 1-1 on the day. Plessinger is now tied with Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Zach Osborne for the point lead heading into round 3 at Thunder Valley in Lakewood, Colorado.

“Glen Helen was pretty amazing for me,” Plessinger said. “The second moto felt a little better than the first one. I actually got to pass some people and I won straight up. This is one of the few outdoor overall wins I’ve gotten and it feels great! Now we’re tied for points and we’re ready to go to Colorado and get a lead on them.”

Troy Lee Designs/Red Bull/KTM’s Alex Martin captured a pair of third-place finishes to claim second overall at Glen Helen. In moto 1, Martin got off to a fourth-place start and quickly moved into third on lap two, where he remained for the duration of the race. In the second moto, he grabbed the holeshot and led the first four laps of the race before engaging in an intense battle for second in the final laps, ultimately finishing third in the moto and second overall for the day.

“Today was fun,” Martin said. “It felt really good to get the holeshot and get out front and lead some laps. Plessinger was riding really well. I saw Jeremy coming and I knew he was going to be strong, but some of the lappers kind of made trouble for me. I’m really happy to come away with two podium finishes here today and second overall at round 2.”

Jeremy Martin

Geico Honda’s Jeremy Martin, for the second week in a row, notched a podium overall result, though this time it was despite not getting stellar starts. The Minnesotan qualified second fastest but finished fifth in moto 1 after a seventh-place start. Moto 2 saw him start third and battle at the front, ultimately taking his third runner-up result out of four motos this season.

“I needed better starts [today],” Jeremy said. “It was super hard to pass out there [with] one main line, [but] no excuses. [We’re] heading to Lakewood ready to battle for this red plate.”
