2016 Ponca City Amateur National | Day Two

Here is the second day of excitement from Ponca City

Early Sunday morning, as racers and families slowly migrated out of the campers. You could hear the slow and steady humming of generators, pressure washers and the roar of bikes firing up. We opened our eyes and gazed upon Jack Blevin’s motocross park as dawns early light beams glistened from its surface. It was clear blue skies and perfect fall temperatures that set the scene for a great day of racing! Pro-Am and Pro-Sport classes were held on Sunday but really the focus this weekend was on the amateur racing as some of the sports best came to compete. Aside from the pros and top amateurs another story could be told of the veterans classes. Many 30+ racers, inspired by the resurrection of Ponca City, came out to race on the same course they did as children. To their surprise, many of their old foes did as well. It was a great time in Ponca this weekend, and we’re glad its back.
