Pit Stand

Sure, there are plenty of places to go on your dirt bike, but where exactly should your bike go when you're not riding? MSR's answer to the problem is the new pit stand, which is made of high-quality aluminum and features a custom-molded rubber top.The highlight of the MSR stand is definitely the high-grip rubber top, which keeps your bike from sliding around on the stand. In fact, it reaches up like a thousand tiny hands and grabs your bike from you! Once the frame rails are set down, there is no moving your ride from the stand. The only problem, though, is the stand sits on four rounded corners (see: very tippy). The dilemma occurs when you set your bike down wrong: The stand tips, and you can't slide the bike to save your life. Cussing ensues. But on level surfaces and with attention to skid plate placement, the stand is fairly stable. For those looking for a strong stand, let's just say the MSR pit stand makes Rocky Balboa look like a girl scout. One day, while rotating the tires on a buddy's car, I found myself in dire need of a jack stand. With nothing at hand in the garage, I ended up wedging the MSR stand under the frame of the Camry and went about my business. It held great! Now, we're in no way condoning such errant use of the stand, but it did work. (But that doesn't mean you can try it.) Needless to say, the stand will hold just about any bike that you are strong enough to get on top. Also, when flipped upside-down the pit stand is great for housing a gas can in the back of the truck. In the end, the $69.95 MSR pit stand is a tough piece of equipment and will probably last until your kids are on big bikes. If that happens, you teach them how to set a bike on it correctly...
