How Much Power Does the 2026 GasGas MC 450F Make?

Dyno testing GasGas’ MY26 450cc motocross bike for horsepower and torque.

The most affordable 450cc motocross bike from Austria is GasGas’ MC 450F. The brand is able to price it lower by using less expensive parts such as a header pipe that doesn’t have a resonance chamber and forgoing features such as an engine map, traction control, launch control, quick-shift module. The MC 450F is also the only Austrian 450cc motocross bike that doesn’t come with an optional vented airbox cover.

Even with those limitations, the 2026 MC 450F produces competitive peak figures of 53.4 hp and 34.2 lb.-ft. of torque at the rear wheel, as measured by our in-house dyno, which is more than KTM’s 450 SX-F and less than Husqvarna’s FC 450. It is out in the dirt where riders notice the GasGas’ duller power delivery.

“The MC 450F engine is smooth but very mellow,” test rider Bradley Lionnet said. “You can feel it wants to be like the 450 SX-F, but is held back by a lack of EFI tuning capability in stock trim, a closed-off airbox, and more restrictive exhaust system.”
