Dirt bikes with 250cc four-stroke engines have enough power for many riders but some prefer a little more oomph, whether it be for motocross, cross-country, or enduro. That causes some to go for a 350cc four-stroke from KTM, Husqvarna, or GasGas, while others seek just 50cc more than the quarter-liter thumpers. For the latter searching for an off-roader, there are only two 300cc four-stroke models available. Both are from Europe and in production as 2025 models, but they are expensive by dirt bike standards at north of 12 grand, which is just one reason some might opt for a used model rather than a new one. Read on to learn more about the pair of 300cc four-stroke enduro motorcycles that can pop up on the pre-owned listings.
Sherco’s 300 SEF Factory is a proven enduro racebike. It was the machine of choice of Cody Webb and Cooper Abbott in the 2023 AMA EnduroCross Championship when they raced for the FactoryOne Sherco team, and our experience aboard the French ride has confirmed it’s impressive in off-road terrain outside the arenas as well. The 300 SEF Factory is built around a semi-perimeter chromoly steel frame, features KYB suspension at both ends, and relies on Brembo brakes front and rear for stopping power.
Both 300cc four-stroke enduro bikes will be challenging to find used given how rare they are, but the EN 300 ES Fi 4T will be the more difficult of the two when searching pre-owned listings being that TM is a small, boutique manufacturer. Regardless of company size, TM’s dirt bikes are very trick and designed for competition. Unlike Sherco’s 300 SEF Factory, its frame is made of aluminum (instead of steel), and the airbox is up front and fuel tank is in the rear. The duo share some commonalities in parts though—a few examples being a KYB 48mm closed-cartridge coil-spring fork, Brembo dual-piston front brake caliper, and Excel rims.
