2007 SX/2008 KTM Comfort Seat

When KTM changed to the current chassis for the SX models in 2007, one of the few areas that wasn’t improved was seat comfort. For hard-core MX there aren’t many comfortable seats left, so it wasn’t as big an issue, but KTM supplied the new chassis and seat for the entire off-road and MX lineup in 2008. Off-road guys actually use the seat. Enduro Engineering came up with its own $129.95 Comfort Seat line a few years ago, and the lessons the company learned about good foam have carried over to the new seat designs. Most of EE seat sales are soft models, but we prefer the fi rm foam. The soft foam doesn’t last as long, and it lets heavier riders bang the seat base with their tailbones. I run a tall fi rm, since it adds more “cush” to the seat. The tall model has a profi le close to the stock seat, but like all EE seats it slopes up a little toward the rear. The upslope is a lifesaver while paddling up a woods rut, but it takes some moto guys a while to adapt. Others on staff like the standard height fi rm foam. The shape of the standard seat is quite different than stock. EE was looking for more support, ease of movement and a way to keep the rider from feeling the edges of the seat base when cornering. It succeeded on all accounts. All Comfort Seats come complete, so all you have to do is unbolt your seat and bolt on the EE unit. Your rear end will thank you. -Karel Kramerhttp://www.enduroeng.com517.393.2421
