The EVS Shorty gloves are short and to the point. As such, they have inspired me to write this test in a similarly laconic manner. The gloves cost $25. Per pair. Jimmy Lewis didn’t like the Shorty at first. I did. He said they feel like they would fall off his hands. I disagreed. I was right. They stay on your hands, but only if the sizing is right. They keep your hands cool. They aren’t at all restrictive. They rule for riding mountain bikes, BMX and 50s. They stink for riding off-road. They let branches in. Sometimes those branches are sharp. That hurts. Hurting branches are bad. The gloves are pretty tough. The palm stayed together. The logo stayed on. Tyler Ruiz and Jimmy ripped the seam on a couple pairs. Tyler is an ogre. Jimmy is worse. My seams didn’t rip. I’m not an ogre. The gloves break in well. Protection isn’t grand. They let some dirt in. But they are really comfortable. I like that they don’t have hook-and-loop straps. I’d buy them if I needed a good pair of hot-weather gloves. But I don’t. I already have one pair. So I won’t. -Chris Denisonwww.evs-sports.com
