Presented by Troy Lee Designs and hosted by the Film Industry takes place Thanksgiving weekend, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday November 28, 29, 30, 2003. The Hollywood film and stunt community is joined by motocross/supercross champions – past and present, auto racers, extreme sports athletes, and dirt bike lovers young and old for a weekend of racing that’s been called in the media “The Great Escape” and the “MX Woodstock.” The unique slate of events attracts such heavy weights as champion CART driver Paul Tracy, road racers, Eric Bostrom and Scott Russell, X Games gold medalists Shaun Palmer and Dave Mirra, MX freestylers Mike Metzger and Ronnie Renner, motocross legends such as John DeSoto, Ricky Johnson, Jeff Ward, Mike Bell, Broc Glover, Micky Dymond, Ron Lechein, Jeremy McGrath, Ryan Hughes, Mike Brown, Mike Kiedrowski, etc.etc.etc.The weekend kicks off with the Troy Lee Happy Hour practice session which benefits the Steve McQueen Memorial Fund for Boys Republic. Party atmosphere is supplied by Red Bull and the Trackside Caf hosted by Asterisk.Saturday gets under way with mini GP’s for little guys, followed by the Vintage and Evolution race where legends revisit the past, the Stunt GP Pro/Am team race featuring stuntmen, and past and present motocross/supercross champions, the N-Style Vet Classic GP for 30 and over, the Film Industry GP, the Brotherhood Industries Dirt ’03 250cc and Open GP.On Sunday, first race up is the N-Style Senior Vet Classic for those over 40, the Brotherhood Industries Dirt ’03 125cc and Open GP, the Moto-A-GoGo Pro/Am team race featuring the greats, the near greats, and the not so greats, a quote from Speed Channel re: this race “there were more past and present champions on the line than any other race in history.” The grand finale is The Coup de Grace (Webster defines “coup de grace” as 1.) A death blow administered to end the suffering of one mortally wounded. 2.) A decisive finishing event. The Coup de Grace is a two and a half hour motocross survival race.
