Newly crowned MXGP World Champion Romain Febvre (Yam) won today’s US GP, however, it was Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Josh Grant who garnered the most attention after winning his qualifying moto on Saturday and then topping the final moto today. Febvre took the overall with a 1-2 performance while Grant and Yamalube/Star Yamaha’s Cooper Webb battled over the runner-up slot, with Grant getting the nod with his 3-1 performance compared to Webb’s 2-3, which landed the Yamaha rider in third overall.

Red Bull KTM’s Dean Wilson made it three American riders in the top four by claiming fourth overall based on a 7-4 moto tally. Meanwhile, Dutchman Glenn Coldenhoff on a Rockstar Suzuki rounded out the top five overall.

Lucas Oil/Troy Lee Designs KTM’s Jessy Nelson dominated the MX2 class by sweeping both motos, beating Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Chris Alldredge, KTM’s Shane McElrath, Kawasaki’s Max Anstie and factory Yamaha rider Valentin Guillod in the first moto. In the second moto, Nelson topped McElrath, Guillod and series points leader Tim Gajser.
