KTM Farioli Enduro Factory Support Team rider David Knight has continued his dominance of the Elite class at the British Enduro Sprint Championship by winning rounds three and four of the series, staged in Dorset, southern England. Powering his 530 KTM to commanding wins on both days, Knight topped round three by a stunning three minutes and then backed it up with a two-minute winning margin at the end of round four. With conditions extremely dry during round three Knight quickly mastered the hard-pack motocross section of the course as well as showing exactly why he is leading the Enduro 3 class of the World Enduro Championship by making light work of the various man-made extreme sections of the course. Round four started out wet, due to overnight rain, but with clear skies for much of the day the track soon dried allowing Knight to assert his authority and make it four Elite class wins from four starts in the ’10 BESC series.David’s next event will be the second round of the British Enduro Championship, the rescheduled Grampian Enduro in Scotland on May 8-9.David Knight: “It’s been a really good weekend. Although I’ve just raced in Spain, where it was dry and dusty, this is the first time I’ve really raced on hard pack this year. Spending quality time riding my bike is exactly what I need to do and that’s what I did this weekend. The first day was really dry and then the second day, after we had some rain, was seriously slippery to start with but then came really good. I was happy with my riding. It’s difficult to push really hard when you have a strong lead as obviously I don’t want to make any unnecessary mistakes. At the first round of the series we had perfect traction, where as here you had to think about accelerating out of many of the corners, especially on the motocross track. It was good because you had to think, you couldn’t just ride flat out. Having some extreme sections was great because again you really had to think. The motocross sections of the course were really fast, and then you had to get into another mind set for the more technical sections or you’d make mistakes. It’s great to see the younger riders doing a good, long day of special tests. All in all a great weekend.”Results – ACU British Enduro Sprint Championship, Rnd 3
