Hi, my name is Jeremy Wahlstrom and I am 15 years old. I have a 2007 YZ 85 and I am too big for it. I am looking to buy a bigger bike but I just don’t know what kind of bike to get. I have two big factors in buying a bigger bike, 125 or 250F, and brand. I know that if I fall on a 125 it will start first kick, but a 250F takes a few kicks. I don’t want to be racing and stall out and not be able to start it! I love Yamaha because my YZ has been strong over the years; but Honda is a good bike also! I just want professional’s opinions.Jeremy Wahlstrom

Jeremy, I’m going to go buy some ice cream, which flavor do you think I should get? No one can tell you what bike to get without more details about you and the type of riding you do, and even then they’re only guessing. Ideally you could meet some people who ride the bikes you’re interested in and bum a short test ride, and of course read the bike tests and shootouts to get a feel for the bikes’ personalities. All the brands and types have their advantages and disadvantages, and people like different things about each one, but based on what limited info you provided, I’d steer you toward a YZ 125, for all the “125s are fun” reasons we’ve mentioned in the magazine over the years. And “Mint Chocolate Chip” is the answer to the other silly question. -Pete Peterson
