If you guessed pure chaos and comedy would result, you’d be right, especially when the guys being inverviewed are the DC team riders and the guy doing the interviews in James Lipton. The result of such a meeting have been turned into a series of 30-second DC Shoes commercials set to air on MTV, MTV2, ESPN and ESPN2 starting July 25.

The host of Bravo’s “Inside the Actor’s Studio” has interviewed the likes of Robert De Niro, Tom Cruise and Julia Roberts for his show, but faced what may have been the toughest challenge of his career when he interviewed Danny Way, fresh from his jump over the Great Wall of China, Rob Dyrdek, Travis Rice, Bruce Irons, Dave Mirra and Travis Pastrana. The DC guys aren’t Hollywood stars, (well, maybe Dyrdek would argue otherwise), so the commercials capture what it’s like to put world-class athletes, personalities and icons on camera—the spots are sarcastic, irreverent, and funny, and also feature dramatic action footage.”We’ve got some of the world’s best athletes and action-sports icons playing off James Lipton, who’s used to interviewing these world-famous actors and movie stars,” said Mark Woolsey, DC’s Vice President of Marketing, “Our riders have such unique personalities, so the spots are really funny—you can imagine a guy as sarcastic as Bruce Irons being interviewed by a guy as serious at James Lipton. and Durdek even brought Big Black up on stage with him.”The “DC/Lipton” commercials are DC’s third television campaign in the last three months; the “Skate Hoops” spots ran in May and June and the “Danny Way/Great Wall” spots ran in July.
