U.S. Round of World Enduro Championships Possible Next YearIn an effort to make the World Enduro Championship a truer global entity, efforts are underway to host two rounds of the series in North America next year. The proposed dates and venues are July 15-16 or 22-23 in New York with a round in Canada north of Toronto the weekend before. (Holding the U.S. round on July 1-2 is also being considered.)

"That's potentially what's coming down the pike," says AMA Sports Manager Roger Ansel. "We'll know later on. Both the and AMA presidents have met with Alain Blanchard who is the organizer of World Enduro series and the ISDE."Blanchard made a presentation at Six Days last year to a number of us . He wants us to do something for him, to have a World Enduro so he can really call it a 'World Championship' and therefore he's helping us —which is fine; we can work with that! I'm planning on having one in July next year."It would mark the first time for the series to visit the U.S., though Brazil hosted a round several years ago. The ISDE, of course, has been held twice on U.S. soil: 1973 in Massachusetts and 1994 in Oklahoma.
