Mechanic: Joey Mauer
FAR Husqvarna’s Andrew DeLong rides a TXC250R in GNCC competition and in the National Enduro Series he rides the bigger TXC310R. According to DeLong’s mechanic, Joey Mauer, the bottom end on this year’s 310 is basically the same as last year’s bike, however, Husky updated the head for 2013, going to the same “Red Head” design as the 250 with a Keihin injection instead of the Mikuni and new electronics.
“It’s basically like last year’s 250, but with the 310 power,” says Mauer.
FAR Husqvarna is one of a handful of off-road teams to run Pro Circuit stuff, so the exhaust system is Pro Circuit, and Pro Circuit does the head work. Other than a Wiseco piston and a Hinson clutch, the rest of the engine is basically stock.
The FAR guys use a special factory front brake caliper on DeLong’s bike that’s got bigger pistons than the stocker for better stopping power. The rear calipers are stock, however. DeLong also uses braided Galfer lines and DP pads. FAR runs Maxxis tires front and rear.
The KYB suspension is set up and serviced by Bart Hayes at Genuine Dirt Racer and, according to Mauer, DeLong likes a relatively soft feel.
As far as personal preference items, DeLong prefers ARC levers, with Renthal bars and grips.
All the protective hardware, like engine guards and brush guards are supplied by Enduro Engineering, as is the skid plate.
