The Beta race team finished off the weekend with a clinched championship, three podiums, and one 4th place finish in three different events.
Starting with rounds five and six of the AMA/NATC Mototrial series, Beta Pro rider Cody Webb finished off the weekend with two second place finishes. The Californian came into the weekend tied in points for the championship however a few too many fives on Saturday and Sunday had him heading into the final rounds with a 10 point deficit.
Webb describes his weekend, “My weekend in Ohio had many highlights and a few poor performances putting me in a situation I didn’t want to be in coming into the final rounds. I struggled here and there my first two laps each day before figuring out the terrain. I was happy to put together my best laps of each day on the final lap. My Ron Lee had my bike working perfect! I have already put last weekend behind me, time to move forward and put the hammer down in Rhode Island.”
The final two rounds will be held in Exeter, Rhode Island this weekend June 23-24th.
Beta Expert class rider Ray Peters clinched his eighth title this past weekend by winning both days. Peters continues to dominate the class by winning every round thus far on his Factory Evo 300 4 stroke.
Peters explains, “Saturday went like clockwork as I felt very comfortable on the slippery rocks. Sunday however I felt like I couldn’t buy a clean ride. It wasn’t until section six that I felt I had a decent ride. Overall it was a great pair of events and my 4-stroker worked perfect. It was a great feeling wrapping up my eighth title in the class!”
On the other side of Extreme events, Beta newcomer Max Gerston competed in the Last Dog Standing Extreme Enduro held at the world famous Glen Helen Raceway. Max and his 350 RR pounded through the nasty conditions including dust, logs, water crossings, and many other man-made obstacles designed to knock riders off their bikes. Max pushed his way through the conditions to finish 3rd.
Gerston describes his ride, “The race was super gnarly, a ton of huge hills, nasty waterfalls, and sketchy water crossings. My bike and body felt great and I was able to put in a great ride. My Stillwell Performance Beta was the perfect machine for the job, the 350 had the perfect amount of power to roast up big hills, or finesse it up rocky gnarly washes. Super pumped with my ride, and happy to get up on the podium.”
National Enduro racer Justin Sode capped off his weekend with a solid fourth place finish at round six. This year’s Inyan Kara event held in Upton Wyoming proved to be challenging as the dust made it tough on rider all day. Sode finished off the weekend in 4th place and currently sits a solid second place in the series points. Next stop of the AMA/Rekluse National Enduro series is in Cross Fork, PA on July 29th.
