Happy May everybody! I hope it’s finally starting to warm up and dry out where you live.
The weather this month has been unreal and our thoughts and prayers go out to all of our friends who have felt the devastating effects throughout the Midwest and the South.
Due to the drastic weather, the offroad racing community has taken a huge hit throughout the east coast. Several races have been canceled, including the Loretta Lynn GNNC and the Indiana 100 GNCC. Fortunately we knew in advance that the Loretta Lynn race was going to be canceled and the Virginia Championship Hare Scramble Series was having a race the same weekend. They even decided to up the pro purse for all the riders that missed out on the GNCC.
On Saturday we set up shop for the Official Yamaha YZ/WR Demo Program where we had over 140 demo rides throughout the day. This was a record for us and for Yamaha. Virginia has always been a good state for us and the people here really made the Program a success. Thank you again to everyone who participated.
The race was really secondary to making sure everyone had fun on the new Yamaha models, and hopefully some local dealers will see the return. As for the race on Sunday, man I was excited. I knew it was going to be tight, so I wanted to get a good start. Unfortunately, I was a little too excited and didn’t get the Yamaha YZ250 started on the first kick like I normally do. This made for a day full of tough passing and playing follow the leader. I had lots of fun and as usual the VCHSS Series put on another outstanding race! Thanks to AmPro Yamaha for all the help and the club members who put this race together.
