- Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park announced that it is working with the Brett Downey Safety Foundation to promote rider safety.
- Flaggers at Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park have received training through the Brett Downey Safety Foundation.

Lake Elsinore, Calif. – March 12, 2012 – Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park, home of the 2012 Lucas Oil Motocross Finals, has announced that it will be working in conjunction with the Brett Downey Safety Foundation to promote safety awareness at the track.
Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will follow Brett Downey Safety Foundation track guidelines by having trained flaggers and EMTs onsite at every race and practice. Fencing has been placed around the tracks to keep spectators at an appropriate distance away from riders on the track. Necessary track grooming will be conducted to keep riding conditions safe, and Brett Downey Safety Foundation signs featuring safety tips have been placed around the facility.
The Brett Downey Safety Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in memory of 11-year-old Brett Downey, who lost his life while participating in motocross in 2004. The Brett Downey Safety Foundation works to increase safety awareness of riders, parents, track owners and promoters to make the sport of motocross as safe as possible, minimizing injuries and helping to preserve all motocross tracks. Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park is happy to join with the Brett Downey Safety Foundation to improve both rider and facility safety.
