 Motocross Planet News Release

Marc de Reuver of the Lanes Kawasaki Team finished sixth overall at the Hawkstone Park international. In the first moto he had to come back from outside of the top ten but still managed to finish the race in sixth position. His start in the second moto was a lot better and this time he crossed the chequered flag in fifth position. The superfinal was Marc’s best race of the day. He rode a consistent race and came home in fourth position.

Marc started the season well at the Starcross in Mantova and was determined to do well again in Hawkstone Park. Marc knows the track and in the past he had already won races there. In the beginning of practice he took his time to get used to the track. When the time practice started he was riding several fast laps and tried to put a fast lap together. Finally he set the seventh fastest time.

In the first moto he didn’t took a good start and came through the first turn outside of the top ten. During the first lap he worked his way back up to seventh position. Marc wasn’t happy with this position and kept pushing. With still three laps to go he took over sixth position and held on to this position till the chequered flag waved.

The start of the second moto was a lot better and this time he came by start/finish in sixth position at the end of the first lap. Marc found his rhythm straight away and started to put the pressure on Martin Barr. With a nice passing manoeuvre he took over fifth place but soon after he got passed by Kevin Strijbos. When Shaun Simpson made a mistake, Marc took over this position and managed to finish the race in fifth position.

At the end of the day Marc had to ride the superfinal. This race was Marc’s best moto of the day. After the start he came out of the first lap in tenth position. During the race he managed to pass several riders and worked himself back up to fourth position. Marc was really happy with this result and this gives him a lot of confidence going into the first round of the Dutch Open Championship Series in Oss next Sunday.
