Husqvarna Racing News Release
Saint John, NB – February 24, 2012 - Feeding Performance Inc. is pleased to announce that rising Canadian off-road star, Ryan Graffunder, is confirmed to continue riding as part of the FP Racing program in 2012. This race season will mark the third consecutive year that the young warrior from Vavenby, British Columbia has raced under the FP banner.
Graffunder has been steadily honing his skills and experience over the last few years and is positioned for another stand out season in 2012. In addition to finishing 2nd Overall in the E3 Class of the 2011 Canadian Enduro Championship, last race season also saw Ryan nail the Top Pro Junior Award (for riders under 21) for the 3rd year in a row. Graffunder had claimed the same prize in 2009 and 2010.
On the heels of the news that Husqvarna North America is quickly preparing to take over Canadian Husky operations and continue the brands momentum following the recent exit of Canadian Distributor BMG, Feeding Performance is pleased to confirm that Ryan will continue racing Husky motorcycles in 2012.
With his race bikes and support supplied through International Motorsports in Delta, British Columbia, Graffunder will be attacking race courses this season on the new Husqvarna TXC 310.
In line with FP’s continuing mandate to focus on improving the support structure for Canada’s top off-road racers, the program has once again secured a solid roster of key sponsors that will provide Graffunder with an impressive level of support for 2012.
“Ryan has been top notch to work with over the last two years” says FP’s Marc Coffin. “He trains hard, knows what he wants, and is a terrific ambassador for both the sport and his sponsors. It’s very satisfying to be able to work with him again in 2012. He definitely wants to earn his stripes and take on the world’s best racers. It’s great to continue supporting that goal.”
“We had a deal in place last fall for me to race of one of my cousin Cory (Graffunder)’s Husky 310 race bikes at the final Endurocross round in Las Vegas” said Ryan. I went to California a week early to ride the bike and train with Cory. I fell in love with it right away and knew for sure I wanted to race one in 2012.
I’ve been riding my new bikes in the snow with spikes and having a blast but I can’t wait for spring and the season to start. The weather is starting to turn around now and I’m looking forward to getting more time on the bikes. My training has been solid and I feel strong. I’m definitely looking forward to going racing and hunting wins.”
In addition to focusing on regional races in Western Canada, 2012 will once again see Graffunder tackle the Canadian Enduro Championship and continue his foray into the AMA EnduroCross series. Ryan’s ultimate goal is to compete in the World Enduro Championship and to take on extreme races such as Erzberg and Hell’s Gate.
Since 2007, Feeding Performance has supported more than a dozen of Canada’s top racers as they challenged the sport’s best competitors across Canada and in various countries around the globe, including; Austria, Brazil, Chile, France, Greece, Italy, Portugal, Romania, Sweden and the United States.
In addition to impressive finishes at extreme events such as Erzberg, Hell’s Gate, Red Bull Romaniacs, Last Man Standing and Xtinction, FP supported riders have stormed their way to over 100 Pro Podiums, including multiple Championships and more than 40 Wins, in Regional and National competitions across Canada.
We are very grateful to our many amazing sponsors that provide us with the outstanding support that has allowed us to help raise the bar in Canadian off-road racing. Without them, none of it would be possible.
