Hart and Huntington News Release
Atlanta’s Georgia Dome played host to a sold out crowd Saturday night for Round Eight of the AMA Monster Energy Supercross. Josh Hansen and Kyle Partridge were ready for a night of action on board their Dodge/Sycuan Casino/Hart and Huntington/Bel-Ray Racing Kawasaki bikes.
Josh Hansen (#100) came out strong again this week placing fourth in Heat 1. Unfortunately, Hansen had some technical difficulties in the Main Event. “I really enjoyed the track tonight at the Georgia Dome and thought that the dirt was awesome. The track layout was good and I thought I was ready to have a killer Main Event. I just came up short on a jump and almost had a big crash. The bike stalled out on me and I couldn’t get it started and that put us a down lap down. It’s a shame. It is what it is. That’s part of racing and I just need to forget about tonight and get ready for next weekend,” said Hansen who finished the night in 15th position.
Kyle Partridge (#83) rode well in Heat 2 but just missed earning a transfer spot into the main, forcing him to ride for a spot in the Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ). Partridge placed second in the LCQ and earned a transfer into the Main Event. “The start of the day was good. I rode solid in practice. I went into the Heat (race) and was running sixth-or-seventh on the first lap and fell. I had to go to the LCQ, made it out and then got ready for the Main. In the Main I was running 14th-or-15th on the seventh-or-eighth lap and just came up short on the rhythm section and the bike stuck. I rode the front wheel off the next jump and had to jump off the bike (in the air) and landed on my feet; luckily I rolled down to the ground. I knocked the wind out of myself. The track was super hard tonight. The ruts made it really technical and I just had a bad night. We’ll head to St. Louis next weekend.” Partridge finished the night in 17th position.
After eight rounds of Supercross action, Hansen sits in 11th place in the overall standings, with Partridge in 16th.
The next AMA Monster Energy Supercross Series race will be held this Saturday, March 3rd at the Edward Jones Done in St. Louis.
