Supercross Team Seattle Race Report
Carlsbad, CA (April 23, 2012) – Qwest Field in Seattle, Washington played host to Round 15 of Monster Energy AMA Supercross this past Saturday night. The Dodge, Sycuan Casino, Hart and Huntington, Bel-Ray Racing Supercross Team was excited to announce the addition of Tyler Bowers #36 to the team. Bowers joins Kyle Regal in this weekend’s line up and will compete in the remaining races of the 2012 Supercross season.
The night started out well, with Bowers #36 placing eighth (8th) in Heat 1 and Regal placing sixth (6th) in Heat 2, giving both guys a place in the Main Event. Tyler Bowers said “I’m still trying to get use to the bike. I got into the Main and was riding in 12th, which was really surprising because I had such a horrible start. I just kept charging. I got crossed up and went off track into the tuff blocks. Tonight was OK, but it’s not what I’m looking for. I know if I get a little bit more time on the bike and get things going I’ll get up into the top 10.” Bowers finished the night in 16th position.
When asked how the experience has been so far riding for Hart and Huntington, Bowers said “It’s been great. There’s no pressure here. I put more pressure on myself. It’s really serious here but everyone knows that if we put in the work we’re going to have the results.”
Kyle Regal #74 had a great heat race and made it to the main. “I had a good gate pick; the same gate that I did in the Heat race. In the Main, I got a decent start and got landed on after the first jump which bent my handle bar and clutch lever down and smashed my hand up a little bit. I was running about eighth and got into it with another rider and lost all my rhythm. From there I just had to ride the race out.” Regal finished the night in 17th place overall.
The next Monster Energy AMA Supercross race will be held this Saturday, April 28th at the Rice-Eccles Stadium in Salt Lake City, Utah. The season will wrap up the following weekend in Las Vegas at Sam Boyd Stadium.
