SKS Polned TM Factory Team News Release

Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Team has scored his first World Championship points of the season at round two of the series in Sevlievo, Bulgaria. In the first moto he crashed in the opening lap and finished the race in 26th position. In the second moto things were going better. Andrea was riding a great race and finished the moto in seventeenth position. With this result he scored four World Championship points.

After a good week of training Andrea travelled to Bulgaria with a good feeling. After some bad luck in the qualifying heat he qualified himself in 25th position for the race. The circumstances were really muddy in the heat but on Sunday the sun started to shine and because of this the circumstances were completely different than on Saturday.

Andrea was motivated to do well in the first moto. Unfortunately he collided with another rider during the first lap and crashed. Andrea dropped back to the back of the pack and had to start a charge back through the field. The track was really fast and the differences between the riders were really small. This made it difficult for Andrea to make up positions. He kept fighting during the race and finished the moto in 26th position.

In the second moto he started the race just outside of the points. He found his rhythm straight away and on his well prepared TM machine it didn’t took him long before he had worked himself up into the points. Andrea kept the pace as high as he could and moved up to seventeenth position before the midway point. In the rest of the race he was riding a consistent pace and finished the moto in seventeenth position. With this position he scored four World Championship points.

Overall he finished in nineteenth position and after two rounds he sits in 25th position in the championship. Next weekend round three of the series will be held in Fermo, Italy.
