S.K.S. Polned Factory Team News Release

Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Team has gained a lot of experience of riding in the sand at the second round of the Dutch Open Championship Series at Halle. Because of the shoulder injury of his team mate Nick Kouwenberg, Andrea went earlier to Holland than he had expected to test and prepare himself for the first round of the World Championship Series in Valkenswaard.

The circuit in Halle was well prepared and with a lot of nice jumps the riders had a nice time on the track. In the strong field of riders with many Grand Prix riders Andrea set the nineteenth fastest time in time practice.

In the first moto Andrea had some difficulties in the first lap and had to come back trough the field. He started a charge and managed to pass several riders. Unfortunately after some laps he ran into some more problems and was forced to retire from the race.

Andrea was motivated to do well in the second moto. Again his start wasn’t good and at the end of the first lap he came by start/finish in 28th position. Cervellin was riding a consistent pace and tried to come back. In the first part of the race it was difficult to pass riders but in the second part of the race he worked himself back up to 22nd position. Unfortunately he didn’t score championship points with this position.

Next week round three of the Dutch Open Championship Series will be held in Heerde.
