Marc de Reuver of the Lanes Kawasaki Team has won a moto at the second round of the British Championship Series in Canada Heights. Marc won the first moto but unfortunately he was unlucky in the second moto. He crashed in the start and in his charge back through the field he collided with another rider and crashed again. Because his bike was damaged he was forced to retire from the race. In the third moto he finished in sixth position after a difficult start of the race.
After some difficult weeks Marc was enthusiastic to start the day in Canada Heights. The circuit was sandy and on these type of terrain de Reuver feels himself at home. Everything went really smooth and in the superpole he set the seventh fastest time.
In the first moto the Lanes Kawasaki rider took a good start and came out of the first turn in third behind Stephen Sword and Shaun Simpson. Marc waited for the right moment to take over second position. When he was in second he started to put the pressure on the leader. With still four laps to go he managed to take over the lead and won the race.
Marc was really motivated to do well again in the second moto. Unfortunately he crashed in the first turn together with Shaun Simpson. Marc had to come back through the field. He gave everything he had but when he was riding in 22nd position he collided with Jaimie Smith and crashed really hard. Because his bike was really damaged he was forced to retire from the race.
In the third moto he started the race in sixth position. In the beginning he struggled to find his rhythm and dropped back to ninth position. After several laps things started to go better for de Reuver and he managed to work himself back up to sixth position. In the closing stages of the race he found the rear wheel of Stephen Sword but unfortunately he couldn’t find a place to make a pass stick and finished the race in sixth position.
Overall he finished in sixth position. Next weekend Marc will participate in the Dutch MX1 Grand Prix in Valkenswaard.
