Duke Red Bull MX Of Nations 2008 DVD - Dirt Rider Magazine

I didn't feel like I got my entire fix of 2008 MX of Nations information in print or on the web, so this baby went straight into the player. The video is distributed by Duke USA, but the company is from the Isle of Man, so this DVD's action is called with a continental bent by the announcer. As a result, the reporting, while fair and balanced for all the countries involved, left me wondering about the second U.S. rider in each moto. James Stewart won the first moto and Ryan Villopoto won the second so the U.S. gets plenty of play, but the announcer stays with the leaders and hardly mentioned Villopoto's first moto ride or Tim Ferry in the second heat. Ferry isn't mentioned in the final heat until his score became critical when Stewart fell and had extreme difficulty starting his bike.Nevertheless, this video has very good coverage, solid video quality and gives a feel for the event. There are many little side bits included in the run of the video that I'd have relegated to "bonus features." It is a DVD, and that's what fast-forward is for if you don't care what the head of the FIM has to say.I'm a rider who believes the MX of Nations is a very important part of the year's racing, so for me this is worth the $29.95. -Karel Kramer
