We just got this set of adventure riding gear into the office and we are taking a look at it as this week’s POTW. Now, adventure gear is way more expensive than your typical moto or off-road gear but there is a whole lot more going on with adventure jackets and pants. Most ADV gear uses the same logic that a Swiss Army Knife does; one product that serves as many needs as possible and the Scorpion Yosemite line does just that.

Starting with the jacket, it has tons of features that should serve a rider through almost any weather, be it hot, cold, wet, or dry. The jacket has three layers that really negate the need for mid-layers or other shells. Closest to the body is a full-sleeve EverHeat thermal liner that can be removed. Next is the full-sleeve H2OBlok water/windproof liner that can also be removed. Lastly is the jacket itself that has massive mesh panels on the chest and back that can be folded down to turn the jacket into super-vented hot weather outer wear.

Since we haven’t ridden in this jacket yet, we can’t say for sure but it looks like navigating all of the liners and zippers and vents and pockets will take some practice. That being said, this jacket is sort of like an air fork; once you understand what everything does, there is a wide range of adjustability.

Both the pant and the jacket have built in protection – the jacket has armor in the shoulders, elbows and back and the pant has knee and hip protection. The pant also has the waterproof, removable liner as well as front and rear zippered vents. Lastly, the pant and jacket can zip together to make more of a suit-type fit if that is your preference.

With heavy duty materials in the abrasion zones this adventure gear should be able to take a hit or two. Overall, this gear is designed to be the only riding gear a rider would need to take on all environments without the need for more layers or separate protection. We are excited to try it out on some adventurous rides coming up in the near future.
