The Monster Energy AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, is set to take place at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California this Saturday, April 2, for Round 12 of 17. Serving as one of the nation’s state of the art facilities, there will be no shortage of action for fans when racers take to the track, including the return of the Western Regional 250SX Class. Pirelli-supported riders will have a wide-range of SCORPION™ MX tires to choose from when approaching the west coast soil of Northern California.

This weekend will mark the highly anticipated return of Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha’s Justin Barcia, who has been sidelined since the second round in San Diego due to a surgically repaired thumb. He plans to use the first few races to work himself back into racing shape, but is looking to grab his third-career 450SX Class victory before the season ends May 7 in Las Vegas.

Fellow Autotrader/Monster Energy/Yamaha rider Weston Peick has been improving each and every week, including back-to-back top-10 finishes and a season-best Main Event result at the last round in Detroit.

BTO Sports/WPS/KTM’s Justin Brayton has consistently been turning solid performances throughout the entire season, which currently puts him eighth place in the 450SX championship standings. He is the team’s lone rider this weekend, ultimately giving him the sole attention and tools necessary to succeed.

Motorcycle Superstore Suzuki’s Kyle Cunningham is looking forward to finishing the Western Regional 250SX Championship off strong after spending the past month gaining valuable experience in the 450SX Class on the east coast. The Texas native currently sits ninth place overall in the championship standings. Rookie Mark Worth has been cleared to ride after suffering an injury at the opening round in Anaheim, but there is no timetable for his return to racing.

The Privateer Journey team is having a successful season, which includes several riders making Main Events in the 250SX and 450SX Classes. Nick Schmidt is carrying the confidence off of a season-high result in the premier class and Killian Auberson is set to make his return to the Western Regional 250SX Class.

JGRMX fill-in rider Phil Nicoletti is returning to the sidelines as Barcia returns to action, but with the start of AMA Pro Motocross just around the corner, he will continue to plug away and get a head start on the team’s testing.
