A Look Back At The Lake Sugar Tree Sprint Enduro

A photo essay of the Virginia Sprint Enduro

The Wiseco John Penton GNCC is coming up this weekend at Sunday Creek Raceway in southern Ohio, but before we start looking ahead to this Memorial Day weekend’s slicing and dicing—and barbecuing—here’s one last look back at the Lake Sugar Tree Full Gas Sprint Enduro courtesy of photographer Shan Moore.

Steward Baylor
Steward Baylor slogs through a muddy turn in the first test of the weekend, while the course was still pretty sloppy. Baylor had an uncharacteristically bad weekend and finished fifth overall.Shan Moore
Mario Testa
Mario Testa finished eighth overall on a borrowed bike. The Ohio rider considers himself a motocross racer, but he has been staying at the facilities so he can trail with Gary Bailey so, since he was there, he decided to give the Sprint Enduro a try.Shan Moore
Mike Witkowski
Mike Witkowski turned in a season-best seventh overall finish. The Beta USA-backed rider has had some impressive finishes in 2018.Shan Moore
Mackenzie Tricker
Bonanza Plumbing/Trail Jesters KTM’s Mackenzie Tricker won the Women’s Pro class by a half second on Saturday, but finished second to Tayla Jones on Sunday and in the overall standings.Shan Moore
Ryan Sipes
Ryan Sipes has won every Cross test of the season except for the final one at the Lake Sugar Tree Sprint Enduro, ruining his goal of finishing the season undefeated in all of the Cross tests.Shan Moore
Layne Michael

Jordan Ashburn
Jordan Ashburn rode a Beta 300 RR in the slippery conditions on Saturday, but switched to the more powerful 430 RR when the course started getting tacky on Sunday.Shan Moore
large group of youth riders
A large group of youth riders showed up to compete, despite the rain and flooding in the area. For Saturday’s event, the youth classes were moved from the morning to the afternoon, after the Pro classes, which worked out perfectly for all classes.Shan Moore
