The FIM Motocross World Championship has returned to Italy for round twelve, where the spectacular sand circuit of Mantova is looking ripe and ready for yet another excellent showdown in MXGP and MX2.

In case you didn’t know, Italy is the home of the eight-time FIM Motocross World Champion, Antonio Cairoli, who has been labeled as one of the best sand riders in the world. Cairoli is currently 3 points down on the defending champ, Monster Energy Yamaha Factory Racing’s Romain Febvre, in the battle for second place and should be able to take it over this weekend. Meanwhile, the championship leader, Honda Gariboldi’s Tim Gajser, looks to be a tough nut to crack at the moment. The Slovenian has a comfortable 74 point lead heading into this round, the FULLBACK MXGP of Lombardia-Italy, but don’t expect him to back it off, the nineteen year old rookie only knows one way, and that’s ‘all or nothing’.
