MotoConcepts Racing STL Race Report - Dirt Rider Magazine

Spokane, Wash. (March 24) - MotoConcepts Racing (MCRMX) had some highs and lows after completing the 12th round of the 2009 Monster Energy Supercross Series in St. Louis, MO. A unique track made for competitive racing as riders searched for the fastest line."We had some pretty good success during qualifying and the heat races, getting three riders into the main again," stated Team Manager Steve Lamson. "It was exciting to see Vince get another holeshot in his heat and Heath also has a great start in his heat."In the 450 class, #13 Heath Voss, currently leading the race for Privateer of the Year, qualified 25th overall, but an excellent start in his heat race landed Voss in 6th place. The start of the main was not as friendly, as a slower start landed Voss toward the back of the pack where he rode to a 17th place finish. Voss is currently 12th overall in points for the year.Tyler Bowers advanced to the main after riding to a 6th place finish in heat race number two. Bowers has been on the move this year and is showing the kind of speed needed to be a consistent rider in the 450 class. The St. Louis main didn't give away anything easy and #911 finished the night in 19th place. Bowers is now 22nd overall for the 2009 Supercross season.Frenchman Ben Coisy was ripping around in practice and qualified an impressive 8th overall. Unfortunately the fun ended for #979, as crashes kept Coisy out of the main. Coisy is currently 17th overall in points and will look to regain his top ten form this Saturday in Toronto. In the 250 class, rookie Vince Friese qualified 20th overall for the night show. Once the racing started, a great show is exactly what the 18-year-old had. With one of the cleanest holeshots of the year, #719 rocketed out front in heat race number one and finished a solid 3rd place. In the main, Friese also nabbed a strong start and ran in the top five for the first third of the race before he tangled with a tuff block and stalled his bike. After getting his bike running again Friese was well back in the pack and the hopes of a top ten finish were gone. A large contingent of Friese supporters was on hand to watch the Cape Girardeau, MO native ride to a 16th place finish. Friese is now tied for 15th overall in the 250 East class.Congratulations to MCRMX 250 West rider Jeff Alessi who finished 12th overall that past weekend in the WORCS Crazy Horse GP Pro Class, in Lake Havasu, AZ. Alessi, who is 9th overall in the West, had a finishing time of 2:07:56.Fans can now follow the weekly events of MCRMX on Twitter and Facebook!MCRMX would like to thank team sponsors: MotoConcepts, MDK, FMF, FLY Racing, Pirelli, DeCal Works, Smooth Industries, Alpinestars, Utopia, Vortex, TCR, Sunline, Dragon Racing Fuel, Excel RK, Goldfren, Boyesen, Guts, Motion Pro, DT 1 Filters, Motorex, Leisure Concepts, Northwest Steel Fab., Extreme Motosport MX park. All interested team sponsor enquires please contact Alison Turner alison@atlantic-promotions.com 805-214-1106.
