"These youngsters and their families work very hard and travel thousands of miles to get to this level of amateur competition and we salute each of them for their outstanding effort." Dunlop has been the official tire of the Mini Olympics for over 20 years and this year constructed "Big Knobby", a huge motocross tire, just behind the starting gate to symbolize the successful launching point for numerous young motocrossers. Dunlop also sponsored an electronic bulletin board this year so that competitors, their families and support personnel could keep up with all of the racing action. Dunlop is actively scouting for members of the 2008 Team Dunlop squad. Team Dunlop provides tire support and preferred service at select amateur races and Dunlop promotes and advertises Team Dunlop in national media and on the Dunlop website. Dunlop also contributes to an educational savings fund for Team Dunlop riders to underscore the importance of staying focused on schoolwork. Seventeen youngsters made the Team Dunlop squad in 2007. Selections for 2008 will be based upon 2007 amateur national results, results from Loretta Lynn's and the 2007 final amateur power rankings. Factored into that will be rider attitude, professionalism and regional impact.
