4th Red Bull Romaniacs Hard Enduro Rally - Dirt Rider Magazine

From the Erzberg to the Ride through the Romanian Hell4th Red Bull Romaniacs Hard Enduro Rally, 17 - 21 June 2007The world's hardest one day enduro race, the Erzberg Rodeo with its merciless Red Bull Hare Scramble as final show down, was used by some enduro specialists as preparation for the Red Bull Romaniacs. In two days indoor streetbike freestyle world champion Chris Pfeiffer (GER) will open the fourth edition of this legendary hard enduro rally through and over the Romanian Carpathian Mountains. Both former winners of the Red Bull Romaniacs, two fold Rally Dakar winner Cyril Despres (1st place RBR 2004, 2005) and Michel Gau (1st place RBR 2006, both FRA), will be at the starting grid. One of them will try to repeat his last year's victory, the other one has to meet an account. "Normally, I finish my races. Last year I had to give up due to my injured shoulder", is Despres taking up the challenge again in 2007. However, also the rest of the professional starters, among them David Casteu (FRA), Frans Verhoeven (NED), Chris Birch (NZL), Chris Pfeiffer (GER) or the 18 year old talent from the US, Kyle Redmond, will try to join the fight for the overall victory .For a total of 150 participants, among them four women, from 20 nations the fourth Red Bull Romaniacs will start on Sunday, 17 June at 01.00 o'clock. These riders, who will still find their names in the result lists after four days, are winners regardless of their ranking.Up close - in the saddle or on the couchThose who find they don't fit into any of the five riding categories - from the Professional Class for the internationally experienced to the Tourist Class where no times will be recorded - can also follow Red Bull Romaniacs online. The race will be broadcast on www.redbullromaniacs.com in real time. Special highlight: Riders will be wearing minitracker devices which send signals to the website and will help provide an overview of riders' locations
