Corona, CA - Pro Taper's fleet of top-level moto athletes are ready to take control of X-Games 17. The event is set to kick off today, Thursday July 28th, and run through Sunday in downtown Los Angeles, CA.

First up for the Moto X events will be Step Up, where Pro Taper's Matt Buyten is set to defend the gold medal that he earned last year. Also on Thursday's competition schedule will be Moto X Best Whip and Best Trick. For Best Whip, Pro Taper's own Todd Potter is the clear favorite to continue his mulit-year win streak. A little later in the evening Pro Taper has some solid star power signed up for Best Trick. With names like Robbie Maddison, Kyle Loza, Jackson Strong and Blake Williams, it would not be a surprise to anyone if the event ended in a Pro Taper podium sweep.

Moto X Freestyle is slated for Friday evening at the Staples Center. Six out of the eight riders chosen for X-Games 17 Moto X Freestyle put their trust in Pro Taper products. Leading the charge of medal hopefuls is 2010 Bronze medalist and long-time Pro Taper endorser, Nate Adams. Nate will have his hands full, though, with five other Pro Taper backed former X-Games medalists. Unfortunately last year's runner up, Levi Sherwood, is still on the mend from an injury sustained earlier in the year and will miss his shot at gold.

Saturday's Moto X Speed and Style finals are set to go off at 8:00pm and Pro Taper's list of riders gunning for gold is even more impressive than in Freestyle. Seven out of eight entrants will be holding on to Pro Taper handlebars as they compete in the race/freestyle hybrid event. 2010 silver medal holder, Nate Adams, has his sights set on bumping up one more spot. Ronnie Faisst and Jeremy "Twitch" Stenberg were co-bronze recipients last year and both have taken their X-Games preparation to an all-new level for 2011.

Moto X EnduroCross will be making its X-Games debut on Sunday. Pro Taper has been a supporter of the sport for years and look forward to seeing Ricky Dietrich return to his roots aboard the Pro Taper backed Valli Motorsports Rockstar Yamaha. Be sure to tune in at 7:30 pm PST. You will be amazed at the obstacles thrown at these riders.
