Beautiful Sun peaks resort near Kamloops BC, was the site of round one and two of the Canadian Enduro Championships, Corner Grass Racing Team had a successful weekend in both Pro and Amateur classes. Simcoe, Ontario's Jessie Grummett had a weekend of nurturing as day one found him having difficulty with the elevation change and trail conditions from his very foreign Ontario home. Jessie, riding an FX 450 in Amateur A class had a much more comfortable day two greatly improving his results.

Cole Dobovich of Provost, Alberta was disappointed with his day one 9th place finish in Amateur A class. Day two saw a vast improvement in his performance to result in a 2nd place finish on his FX 450 for the day.

CGRT was represented in the E2 Pro class by Ben Rego and Shane Cuthbertson. CEC veteran Shane Cuthbertson rode a very strong day on his Enduro Engineering Canada suspended FX 450 finishing 4th E2 and 5th overall for the day. After a frustrating 2010 season which saw him under go three surgeries, Shane regrouped and adjusted his winter training program and got off to a great start to the 2011 National Enduro series. Shane rode much stronger on day two but his results didn't reflect it, showing him in 6th E2 and 7th overall for the day.

" The Giant Killer" Ben Rego transformed himself into a giant this weekend at Sun Peaks, the ever smiling Rego railed his Rekluse clutched FX 450 to popular 3rd place E2 and 4th place overall on Day 1. Sundays dryer course didn't favor Ben and despite his best efforts, he lost a position in E2 to 4th place E2 and 5th overall. The Kitimat, BC native, is very much accustomed to the slimy, wet coastal conditions that Day 1 presented to the competitors. "I love the bike, it handles really good when I need to move it side to side, much lighter that other bikes that I've ridden and the Enduro Engineering suspension works good" commented the new Husaberg rider.

"We are really happy to get Ben on a Husaberg as he had a stellar ride at the 2010 at the nationals and we felt he deserved some support and credit for his efforts. Bens a great guy and his laid back demeanor seems to fit well with us. We are excited with Ben and his performance", stated CGRT Team manager Lee Fryberger.

Overall, a great start to the season. CGRT's intention was to give the young junior riders support, to help them gain experience enabling them to utilize their youth and become better riders. This weekend Jessie and Cole both showed improvement. The CEC season is long and should test both young riders. The elder statesmen of the team will help the younger riders achieve podiums and with a little luck and hard riding should see podium themselves.
