2019 Suzuki RM-Z250 First Look

New 250 four-stroke motocross bike

Suzuki has released preliminary information about its 2019 RM-Z250, which sees its first significant updates since 2016. The 2019 model 250 four-stroke motocrosser has a new frame and swingarm, updated bodywork, different ergonomics, a new coil-spring fork, a new shock with different linkage, and, according to Suzuki, the engine produces more power with improved throttle response. Additional information on the new RM-Z250 will be available in September 2018 and it is estimated to arrive at dealers in February 2019.

From our observations of the bike, it looks to have a similar, if not the same, frame as the newest-generation RM-Z450. While Suzuki hasn’t listed the manufacturer or model of fork on the bike, it appears to be a Showa 49mm coil-spring fork and the shock is not the Showa Balance Free Rear Cushion (BFRC) unit that came on the RM-Z450 last year. It also appears to have Dunlop’s new MX33 soft-to-intermediate terrain tires as well as the same bodywork and number plates that the RM-Z450 received last year.
