Anticipation was in the air at the Power Balance Pavilion in Sacramento with many fans wondering if Taddy would take things back to his usual ways of winning by a mile. Fortunately for viewing’s sake, round one of the GEICO AMA EnduroCross in Las Vegas saw Colton Haaker as the winner with Justin Soule in second and an amazing comeback by Taddy Blazusiak which earned him a very close third place finish. The biggest question coming into round #2 was, “Will Taddy be able to keep it on the wheels during the start and run away with it like he is so used to doing?”
The track was exciting as always and this weekend many of the riders claimed the track was “easy.” But, there were a lot of people taking dirt, log, rock and water naps throughout the course so that definitely tells us the track was no cake walk. The high speeds of the less-technical-than-usual EX track had riders charging harder—hence the many crashes. The track style lent itself to good racing and bar-to-bar battles.
