Honda Genuine Accessories Work Stand Review – Dirt Rider Magazine

When the 2009 Honda CRF450Rs first showed up at the Anaheim Supercross that year, the factory team had an angled bike stand to support the new bike’s angled
frame cradle and keep both wheels off the ground. It was a bit of overkill to have a handmade bike stand, but I wanted one. This $124.95 Honda Genuine Accessories production version of that work stand uses a much simpler block at one end rather than an angled surface. It’s not
worthy of being under the factory rig, but I’ve been accused of the same thing, so I’ll cut it some slack. It’s definitely sharp looking—it’s red enough to
make fire engines envious, and the “Honda Racing” badging looks really trick.I considered the stand a luxury when I nabbed it, but then it turned into something very useful. See, I wash my Long Haul 2011 CRF250R at coin-op washes.
Before this stand I had to waste time pulling or leaning the bike to get the rear wheel off the ground to spray it clean. With this work stand I can throw
the bike up (after I clean the bottom) and get the whole bike spotless with one wash cycle. For some irrational reason I think it’s worth $124.95 to save
$2.50 after each ride. And if you want to follow this justification, if you ride and coin wash every weekend, this stand pays for itself in a year (and gives
two free washes)!I’m not a fan of the rounded legs on this or any stand, but this one still looks like new after a year of use and makes lubing the chain easy, so I give it a thumbs-up…unless that image is copyrighted by Kawasaki.— Pete Peterson
