Answer Tool Shed Undergarment - Dirt Bike Gear Review - Dirt Rider Magazine

Answer
Tool Shed

If you're looking for a little extra protection underneath your riding pants, the Tool Shed undergarment is the perfect buffer between your skin and your outer protection. These stretchy garments come in half-length or full-length. Designed to fit beneath pants and knee guards, they can help prevent chafing from knee protection straps and stave off monkey butt as well. At first, I thought the light material seemed a little loose and anticipated that they might move around under my gear too much, especially with the full-length garment. After riding, though, I hardly noticed I was wearing it, and ventilation seemed to be OK, especially on the inside of the leg. For sure, the undergarments help stop chafing from my knee guards; however, I'd prefer a little more padding in the butt area and behind the knee to maximize the protection. After several washings, the Tool Shed held up extremely well, with no fading or noticeable wear, but the elastic around the ankle on the full-length version has stretched out. I'd definitely consider the Tool Shed for a longer or cooler ride, but the pricing on these garments is just a bit high for me. The half-length retails for $24.95, and the full-length is $34.95. -Joe McKimmy
