Welcome to the Weekly Dirt, the place to go each week to get the lowdown skinny on the off-road scene. This week we have a mixed bag of news from various sources, so buckle up your Leatt and let's get down to business!

Dirt Rider, with help from manufactures, hosted a beginner ride day at Glen Helen. Some of the attendees had never ridden a dirt bike before and were completely excited to throw a leg over an iron horse for the first time. The Dirt Rider posse dragged out piles of test gear (some with a tasty aroma) for those without. Jimmy Lewis held the reigns, teaching those new to the sport through his ninja like tactics and methods. He had pure beginners putting in lap after lap on Glen Helen's mini track and smiling ear to ringing ear. By the end of the day a race of organized chaos took place lead by a pro rider as team captain, two intermediates and two beginners, which kept the racing somewhat fair. With team shenanigans at an all time high, it was near impossible to keep track of what team won or lost. It really was irrelevant because every rider had smiles a mile wide after the race, especially the beginners who exclaimed "Whoa! I can't believe I raced my first day of riding!" "I'm alive! I'm alive!" DR would like to give a huge thanks to Yamaha, Honda, Kawasaki and KTM for coming out and supplying the DR ride day with entry-level bikes. The bikes may or may not have bent or broken levers and there is a chance they could have some scratched plastic. It's all good because it is in the name of learning how to ride a dirt bike!

On the premiere episode of On Two Wheels, Dirt Rider editor-in-chief Chris Denison and test rider Dane Herron hit the test track with the new Honda CRF250R. Then EnduroCross Pro racer Kyle Redmond stops by to run the Honda through some Enduro testing.

Hey Jimmy! My name is Connor Cowles and I am from Northern Indiana and recently purchased a 2012 yz450f. I am coming from 2009-2010 rmz450's so F.I is nothing new to me...but i am much happier on the yamaha...Anyways I was surfing the web and came across your article on dirtrider asking the readers to email you for mapping suggestions..Well i have the gytr tuner and love it!! I have pulled some of the maps off of yamahas site and played with them and experimented a bit. So far i like the slick track map and stock (all 0's). The bike is still stock but soon we will be running a yoshi rs-4 on it and possibly a gytr head, cams and piston.. This is obviously going to affect jetting. My big question is though, i hear that the 2011 yz450f map is all 0's...right? well would the 2012 map be all zeros for stock? how would i achieve the stock 2011 map if my tuner is stock on all zeros? I like the snap of the 2011's, but i know the longer pipe is holding it back a ton! I know each yami's ecu remember the running time so maybe the 2012 is just as smart and knows that zeros are stock? im a bit lost and have found no help on the net for this subject.. I would imagine though.. that the 2012 needs some special #'s to become the 2011 bike.. but any help would be very generous and very well appreciated! THANKS!

Haven't you noticed that when walking through the mall, checking out a dirt bike store, cruising the pits at Supercross or at a random break on a trail ride you usually have your cell phone in your hand and are doing something with it. Most likely that "something" is snapping pics and sharing them via Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or Tumblr. The GMC Events team spent last week preparing for the start of the 2012 Husqvarna ACU British Sprint Enduro Championship. Take a look at what the opening event of the series, on February 11/12, has to offer...

How many times have you heard one of your riding buddies state that "there's no such thing as a perfect _____!" These blanket statements apply to riding gear, hard parts and just about anything else we dirt riders can bolt, stick, fasten or apply to our bikes and bodies. The general thinking is that there will always be something to improve upon, but not everyone buys into this unwritten rule. Case in point: Fox. When the top designers, engineers and product wizards at Fox set about designing a new boot, they didn't just shoot for "almost perfect", nor did they accept that a finished product had to be flawed. They spent countless hours designing, developing and testing various components, and after several years of gathering feedback from the top riders in the sport, they came up with a design that was as close to perfection as they could manage. Welcome to the Weekly Dirt, the place to go each week to get your off-road fix. With three Supercross rounds in the books, it's starting to look like we've got a race on our hands. Three winners in three rounds is a great sign, not to mention three bike manufacturers on top of the podium as well: Kawasaki, KTM and now Honda. In the meantime, off-road racing kicked off this week, as well, with Hare Scrambles in the east and Hare and Hound in the west. Meanwhile, the opening round of the Rekluse/AMA National Enduro series is this coming Sunday in Sumter, South Carolina. So get ready for the Dirt, there's a lot to cover.

So here we go again, the 2012 Extreme Enduro season kicked off with the Tough One in the UK. Where exactly in the UK? Let's just say about 70 miles southwest of Manchester. The name of the place is sort of unpronouncable for anybody living more than 200 miles away: Nantmawr Quarry.

MSR, Answer and ProTaper are all members of the Corona Sports Group and Dirt Rider got wind that the trio was throwing an open house party so we decided to stop by and see what was going on. The new 2012 gear was showcased in shiny glass boxes throughout the building, team riders bikes were on stands lining the red carpet into the main entrance and food and drinks were present for the taking. Check out some photos of the party, Answer and MSR's new gear, some ProTaper products and the pros of supercross, motocross and freestyle signing autographs.

The DC Moto Team came together for some fun at the 3rd Annual DC Ride Day and Poker Tournament at Pala Raceway and Casino in December 2011.

Monster Energy Kawasaki's Taylor Robert (33) put in two stellar rides over the opening weekend of the WORCS Pro Series to win the overall and begin the quest for his first WORCS Pro Championship. Robert won the opening race on Saturday and followed it up with a second place finish on Sunday to score the overall victory and sit at the top of the point's battle.

The Dirt Rider guys and gals walked the pits at Anaheim 1 in full force. Each of us snapping photos left and right with our high end expensive cameras as well as our cool mobile phones. There are apps these days that allow you to mess with saturation, clarity and different types of filters as well as give the photo an HDR or oldschool effect, all from that electronic device that sits in your pocket.
