The Scorpa is what I would call a crossbreed of a trials bike and a dirt bike. It's a blast to ride on tight and rocky single-track and still holds its own on faster-paced trails. Everyone who looks at this thing says the same thing: "It looks like a trials bike with a seat on it." Well, even though this bike has a seat, I found myself only using it when I stopped to take a break. Sitting down just felt awkward. The handlebar was too tall, the pegs were too far back and the shifter was out of reach when I sat down for the turns. However, as soon as I stood up, the bike handled better than any dirt bike through the tight stuff. The Scorpa was definitely made to ride standing up, even through turns. The weight of the bike is average, but it has a very low center of gravity which makes it effortless to toss around. The tighter the turns, the steeper the hills and the rockier the trails got, the more fun I had on the T-Ride. The Scorpa seemed to really shine on the difficult trails you dread on a dirt bike. It has a smooth, broad powerband, which lets you crawl up almost any hill with excellent traction. This is the first bike I've ridden that is awesome for correcting rider error. When I got kicked off-balance or messed up through a section, it was very easy to regain control and keep the bike going. The Scorpa was a lot of fun to ride and would be a great bike to dazzle your friends with on your next trail ride.

It was my first ride back since having knee surgery (ACL reconstruction), and I was a little nervous about getting back on the trails. Jimmy shushed me and escorted me to the Scorpa T-Ride: "Here, take this and tell me what you think when you're done riding." My nerves settled when I threw my newly fixed leg over the T-Ride; it has a low seat height! Then I noticed how much room I had to move around on the bike while standing up. Due to the trials-style ergonomics and the bike's thin profile, I felt like I could conquer any tough trail that lay ahead. The high footpeg position and bar that's set really far forward put you in a great standing position that's beneficial for climbing technical hills. The seated position is a bit awkward, but I was able to get used to it after a few minutes. The motor character was comfortable and plenty fast for my riding. Overall I really enjoyed the bike and promptly asked Jimmy, "So when are you going to get me one of these?"
