I really like the power curve on the YZ125--hardly any bottom-end but tons of hard-hitting midrange and a solid top-end. The motor is snappy and easy to ride fast. It seems the more you rev it the better it works. The bike feels super-light and turns anywhere. The YZ125 works great in rough conditions, and under power it tracks perfectly and soaks up big square-edge bumps. I was very confident on the YZ125 and took lines I hadn't taken on some of the other bikes. Overall the YZ125 is a great package--it inspired confidence and didn't fatigue me. Definitely the best two-stroke 125 for me!

The YZ125 was really easy for me to ride. I felt I could turn that thing anywhere. I like the way the seat and gas tank line up. The ergonomics fit me almost as if the bike was tailored for me. The motor has a ton of power and seemed to rev to the moon. The jetting was decent and never seemed to pop or miss a beat. The motor could use a tad more power down low, but other than that it rips. I like the suspension--it felt predictable and didn't do anything drastic.

I have always been a fan of the YZ125. I really like the motor--it's a little weak off the bottom but has tons of mid and top-end power. I would have liked more bottom-end, I had to work to get going. The suspension was decent, but it seemed to have softened up a bit by the end of our testing. The YZ has always handled well--just point and shoot and the bike goes.

The YZ125 has great throttle response. It doesn't have much bottom-end, but it truly comes to life once the motor is in the higher rpm range. Mid to top-end power is strong, usable and super-predictable, and that's a good way to build confidence. The bike was a little uncomfortable for me--it seemed to sit a little high on the rear, the forks were a tad harsh and in general it felt a little cramped. The ergonomics weren't for me and took awhile to get used to.

I love riding the YZ125. It feels tailor made to my body. It has the same basic feeling as the YZ250F, only better. The bike seems to go wherever I'm looking. The suspension was perfect after a few small adjustments. The overall handling and suspension package made me want to pick the YZ125 ahead of the RM-Z250 and KX250F four-strokes, but the easy-to-ride four-stroke power is too much of a factor. The YZ125's motor was once the pride of the class, and it's still pretty darn good. You have to stay focused to keep it on the bubble, but it drives hard and makes good speed. I think the YZ125 needs to be ridden aggressively, and I felt more comfortable pushing it through fast sections than most of the other bikes. If I didn't like the versatility of the four-strokes so much the YZ125 would have been in contention for my favorite bike.
