The KX125 was a fun bike to ride. It doesn't do anything great and it doesn't do anything horribly. The motor has a really mellow feel to it. It felt OK off the bottom; I had to use a lot of clutch but not in excess. There is more usable power in the midrange and it's pretty decent. Top-end power is solid but has a noticeable flat spot. Overall the powerband is smooth but just doesn't feel that strong. The chassis feels good everywhere, most noticeably when it's rough. I think this is the easiest bike to ride when conditions are rough because it doesn't have a ton of power to wear you out. The KX125 handles decently and it feels light and nimble. I didn't really care for the front fork, it seemed harsh on small, choppy bumps. The ergonomics are good.

The motor on the KX125 is good on the bottom and feels responsive. It has solid midrange but is really flat on top-end power. The suspension worked well for me just about everywhere, especially on the faces of steep jumps. It was really easy for me to jump faces at speed and soak up the impacts. The forks are a little harsh in choppy sections, but I was able to make a few adjustments that helped slightly. I also liked the ergonomics and the positioning of the handlebars with the stock triple clamp.

I was disappointed with the KX125. The motor is really flat--just when you think the power is coming on, the motor signs off. You really have to ride hard in order to go fast. I also didn't like the way the motor fell off the rpms, it had a bad lean bog. The technician changed the jetting but it didn't seem to help. The chassis worked well in all conditions, and it was really easy to ride in super-rough areas of the track. I liked the ergonomics, and the front brake was super-strong.

The KX125, is truly an easy bike to ride, but it's not very fast. The motor pulls well off the bottom and has good midrange power but falls on its face up top; it doesn't have that extra snap that is so important on a 125. The suspension works well; it's a tad on the soft side but not too bad. Overall handling is good--it turns easily and doesn't wear you down physically.

The KX125 is easy to ride, but it's kind of deceiving because it makes you feel like you're going faster than you really are. The mellow motor and predictable chassis make it easy to ride smoothly and consistently, but I was turning faster lap times on all the other bikes. The suspension worked fine once I dialed it in. All I could complain about is a tad bit of harshness in the fork. It's not so much the fork is bad, I just think some of the other bikes have made big improvements this year. I could see the KX125 being the perfect bike for a small guy coming off an 80, or an adult who's a true beginner. The bike could also work for more advanced racers, but it would take some motor work.
