What's New
KX125 and KX250
• Forged one-piece (instead of two arms) Uni-Trak link that anchors to a 20mm-longer swingarm.
• Frame is lighter, and some cross tubes and brackets were modified to enhance cornering clearance.
• New semi-sealed 48mm Kayaba fork with more compact front-axle brackets, shorter axle and aluminum axle collars.
• Center of the seat is 8mm higher and cover is nonslip.
• Footpegs (3mm) and rear brake pivot (11.5mm) raised for improved ground clearance and riding position.
• Reshaped combustion chamber with higher compression.
• Straighter carburetor air ducts.
• Stronger radiator side brackets.
• Stronger engine-mount bolts, pipe-mount brackets and chain guard.

KX125
• Piston-ring locating pin moved to rear of piston, better-sealing KIPS, dual-stage reeds, stronger connecting rod and more rigid left crankcase casting.
• Revised ignition.
• Clutch cable/case joint sealed with an O-ring.

KX250
• Revised port timing and tin-plated piston with fine oil-retaining grooves.

What's Hot!
KX125 and KX250
• Riding position fits a wider variety of body types comfortably.
• Handling is crisp and intuitive, and the bikes are nimble with no obvious flaws on fast or slow tracks, though the 125 was more highly praised than the 250.
• Suspension action is impressively plush with good bottoming resistance, but again, the 125 was easier to dial in.
• Brakes are improved in both power and feel.
• Nonslip seat cover is a nice change.
• Graphics hold up much better to knee-brace abuse.

KX125
• Engine hits harder and pulls with more meat in the middle but still revs out well.
• Picks up successive gears cleanly with no hesitation.
• The combined chassis package of suspension and handling is very planted and confidence-inspiring with no busyness at speed.

KX250
• Engine performance is way up from '03 everywhere in the powerband but mega better in bottom power.

What's Not!
KX125 and KX250
• Ergonomics are still more compact than most other brands.
• Fast or heavy riders will want/need stiffer suspension.

KX250
• Suspension and chassis setup is more critical on the KX250 than on the KX125. When settings are off, the bike can be busy.
