What's New
All full-size SX models

• WP PDS shock fitted with a straight-rate spring (instead of progressive), and the needle for the PDS makes the second piston in the shock more effective for better action while retaining bottoming control.
• WP 48mm fork has more effective midspeed valve.
• Swingarm pivot bolt is increased 2mm to 17mm.
• Swingarm is 10mm longer for better traction and stability.
• Gusseting around steering head changed for more strength.
• Rear master cylinder has integrated reservoir.
• Brake discs have round holes instead of slots.
• All SX models have one-piece rear fender/side number plate combo.
• Clutch master cylinder bore reduced for easier pull at the lever and refined engagement feel.
• Air filter and cage with three retaining pins for better sealing and safety.
• Triple clamps for all models have 20mm offset (two-strokes were 14mm in '03).
• Renthal 608 tapered handlebar is 12mm higher than on '03 models.
• Dual-compound gray/orange Renthal half-waffle medium-compound grips.

125/200 SX
• New pipe tuned for added midrange and high-rpm power.
• Moto Tassinari V-Force reed valve is standard.

250 SX
• More reliable clutch plates.
• Single-ring piston.
• Lighter ignition cover.
• Exhaust port timing adjusted for smoother power delivery.
• Pipe and silencer redesigned for increased torque and more usable power.
• Crankshaft with increased rotating mass for better traction and more tractable power output.
• New carburetor setting for smoother power delivery.
• Moto Tassinari V-Force reed valve.

450 SX RFS
• Lighter and improved valve springs and retainers for quicker revving and better reliability.

525 SX RFS
• Digital control box raises redline to 9800 rpm.
• Crankshaft has more rotating mass (via removable weights) for more traction and less stalling.
• Single-tube exhaust and reshaped silencer as on '03 450 SX.

What's Hot!
• Massively improved suspension plushness and action for all models.
• Lighter brake and clutch efforts, but with better feel to all controls.
• Lower and more compact, more mainstream ergonomic setup. Very slim and light overall feel for all models.
• Chassis balance front to rear much more neutral.
• Very clean looks and graphics that hold up well.
• Premium components are standard.
• All engines but on 450 SX have class-leading power; 450 is competitive but smoother and less violent than classmates.

What's Not!
• Seats are still very firm.
• Some riders notice a different feel to the linkless rear suspension.
• Bike can feel almost too narrow.
