PHOTO GALLERY: Dubya USA World Vet Championships 2015

The Dubya USA World Vet Championships were held at Glen Helen on November 7th and 8th and this year drew a big contingent of racers across many different countries. Racers from Canada, Sweden, Australia, Germany, and even Japan came for some bragging rights in their respective age groups. The big winners this year were KTM Red Bull's development test rider Ryan Morais in the 30 Pro, Kurt Nicoll in the 40 Pro, and Doug Dubach in the 50 Expert class. Team Dirt Rider attended this year's event and our editor in chief Chris Denison came away with his own hardware, winning the plus 30 intermediate class. Associate Editor Kris Keefer landed on the podium in the 30 Pro class and test rider Ricky Yorks raced hard to get second in the plus 25 expert division. Ryan Morais won his first ever “World Vet” championship on Sunday. The friendly KTM employee was battling Sleeter in the second moto until Sleeter had a mechanical. Morais would take the second moto win and the overall.

Just because you’re over the age of 50 doesn’t mean you can’t absolutely haul the mail on a dirt bike. Doug Dubach and Kurt Nicoll were this close all weekend long. Nicoll got the better of Dubach in the 40 Pro race on Saturday, but Doug went on to win the 50 expert class Sunday.Photo by Preston Jordan

Poor Michael Sleeter. With last year’s winner Travis Preston out of this year race, Sleeter was the hands on favorite to win the title, but a popped off fuel line while battling for the lead in the second moto derailed his chances.Photo by Preston Jordan
