KIRKBY MALLORY (GREAT BRITAIN),
Defending world champion David Philippaerts winning the MX1 class and Marvin Musquin the MX2.
Both started from pole which they took through yesterday's qualifying heat wins.
Nagl and Clement Desalle completed the MX1 podium while Championship leader Antonio Cairoli ended eighth overall after yesterday's crash.
In the MX2 Frossard and Paulin completed the "French" podium behind red plate holder Musquin.
Coming back to victory after his latest appearance on the top of the podium at Loket 2008, Yamaha Monster Energy Motocross' Philippaerts stormed from fifth to second in the Championship as he picked up 47 precious points while Championship leader Antonio Cairoli and third placed Jonathan Barragan struggled.
Yamaha Red Bull De Carli's Cairoli suffered after yesterday's crash and soldiered on to finish both heats and take eighth overall, retaining the red plate eventually. Barragan was handed third by Nagl -who crashed- in heat one but a crash in moto two ruled the KTM Silver Action Spaniard out with a broken clutch.
Red Bull KTM Factory Racing's Max Nagl took second on his first season podium as the German looked the strongest on the track today. Leading most of heat one, he fought back after Philippaerts snatched the lead but crashed and ended fourth. In heat two he took his revenge dominating ahead of the defending Champion.
Courtesy of a second and a third place finishes LS Motors Honda's Clement Desalle rounded up the podium but expressed his disappointment for a fall in the early stages of heat two.
After several years, Mickael Pichon back in the GPs, he drive the factory Honda of team Martin, in fact the team has currently all the two riders, Kevin Strijbos and Marc De Reuver out for injured.
Yamaha fellow riders Jonathan Coppins and Tanel Leok rounded off the top five ahead of a solid Mickael Pichon and injured Ken De Dycker.
Home hero Billy Mackenzie struggled with an injured thumb to end 13th overall.
David Philippaerts:
"For me this is a great day after some difficult GPs. It feels like a long time, too long, since I last won at Loket last year. I almost forgot the feeling! The track was softer here last year and it was definitely easier on Saturday than it was today. I had some good starts but this has happened quite often this season and I owe a big thanks to the team for this; for sure to start at the front makes the job easier."
Max Nagl:
"I pushed very hard in the first heat and I put a lot of pressure on myself. It was quite difficult to catch up after the crash because it's hard to overtake on this track. But after winning the second race I realise I could have easily won both of them. I have lacked a little confidence until now but Stefan Everts (factory team manager) has done a great job with me and I understand the problem is in my head. Hopefully I can keep going the same way as today.
Clement Desalle:
"I am a bit disappointed to lose second position by just one point but this podium is another good result for my championship standing. I made a mistake in the second moto and this was a shame because I lost contact with David ( Philippaerts) and second position. My starts were good and this is a positive part of the day."
