Freestyle fans: Orange Show Fairgrounds, San Bernardino, California is the place to be on June 21.
Last year saw Drake McElroy outperform multi-time X-Game gold medalist Mike Metzger. With the backflip now a normal part of the freestyle repertoire, this year's event should be even better. Riders invited to attend this year's show and chase after a $20,000 purse include Ronnie Faisst, Nate Adams, Tommy Clowers, Trevor Vines and Ronnie Renner. There will also be an amateur qualifier to help cultivate new talent into the genre.
Tickets for the Second Annual Western Freestyle MX Championship are $20 for adults and $12 for children. Gates open at 5:30 pm and it kicks off at 7:30 pm. So mark your calendars as a day to see extreme athletes unleash their latest aerial maneuvers.
